About cPanel
cPanel is one of, if not the largest control panel on the internet. If you are viewing this you are most likely using a Linux server. While there are other control panels that are out there, cPanel is one that you will see more often than not.
cPanel is developed by cPanel.net who also makes the Web Hosting Manager (WHM) control panel. You will often hear cPanel/WHM because they are the same software, even though you may never use WHM. Web Hosting Manager is used to control accounts and server based functions; whereas, cPanel is used to control a site.
cPanel is a great piece of software because it allows you to do an extraordinary amount of things with ease. As you can see to the right, there are 30 different things described that you can do from cPanel. The tutorials are for most, if not all of the major things you will want to do. As you learn more about cPanel you may do things not listed to the right.
There are also a lot of Skins out there for cPanel which make it easier for some people. The skin we are using in the tutorial is the standard one, X Skin.
We hope that the tutorials to the right will help you do everything that you want to do in cPanel. They cover the all important aspects such as creating an email account and adding an FTP account. There are also tutorials that show you how to do more detailed things such as creating a Cron Job.
